How to measure for Sand
- Measure the length and width of the area in feet. For circular areas, measure the diameter instead.
- Choose the depth of your layer in inches. Decorative layers and walkways usually need 2-3 inches, driveways 4-6 inches.
- Enter the dimensions in the calculator above to get the volume in cubic yards and the weight of Sand in tons.
- Add about 10% for compaction and settling, and round up to the nearest whole ton when ordering.
