Limestone SB2, also known as SB2 aggregate, SB2 road base, 1.5-inch-minus limestone, or compactable limestone base, is a dense, well-graded blend of crushed limestone ranging from stone dust and fines up to approximately 1 1/2 inches. Its broad particle distribution allows the smaller material to fill the spaces between larger stone, creating a tightly compacted and highly stable foundation.
When properly placed, graded, moistened, and mechanically compacted, SB2 limestone locks together to provide strong load-bearing capacity and long-term resistance to rutting, shifting, and settlement. The coarse aggregate adds structural strength, while the fines help bind the material into a firm, level base.
Limestone SB2 is widely used in heavy-duty residential, commercial, roadway, and infrastructure projects where dependable support is required beneath pavement and finished surfaces. Its strength, compaction, and durability make it a trusted choice for roads, driveways, parking areas, building pads, and other high-traffic applications.
Common Applications of Limestone SB2

- Driveway and access-road base installation
- Parking lot and commercial lot preparation
- Base layer beneath asphalt or concrete pavement
