Pathway limestone, also known as compactable crushed limestone, limestone screenings, or crushed limestone fines, is a dense blend of small angular stone and fine limestone particles designed to create firm, durable walking surfaces. When properly placed and compacted, the material locks together to form a smooth, stable path with a natural limestone appearance.
Its compactable texture helps reduce shifting, rutting, erosion, and muddy areas while providing a comfortable surface for regular foot traffic. Pathway limestone spreads easily, follows curves and landscape contours, and creates a clean transition between gardens, patios, courtyards, and other outdoor spaces.
Pathway limestone is popular for residential and commercial landscapes because it combines natural appearance, dependable performance, and low-maintenance installation. It works especially well for informal walkways and trails where a softer, more natural finish is preferred over concrete or pavers.
