Fill Dirt

Fill dirt is a compactable structural material made from a balanced blend of clay and sand, sometimes containing small stones or soil particles. Designed for strength and stability rather than planting, it compacts tightly to create a firm, load-bearing base for construction and site preparation projects. Its clay content helps it lock together when compacted, reducing settling and improving long-term structural performance.

Common applications for fill dirt

• Backfilling around utilities and retaining walls

Not intended for drainage or planting applications, fill dirt is best used wherever a strong, compacted base is needed before finishing with topsoil, gravel, asphalt, or concrete.
