#8 slag, also known as #8 steel slag, small slag aggregate, or clean processed slag, is a durable, angular material commonly sized from approximately 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch. Produced from processed steelmaking slag, it provides strong interlock, dependable drainage, and excellent resistance to wear in construction, paving, and site-development applications.
Its clean, fractured particles allow water to move through the aggregate while settling securely under traffic and load. The smaller, uniform size makes #8 slag easy to spread and place around pipes, trenches, pavement layers, and narrow work areas where consistent coverage and stable performance are important.
#8 slag is widely used because it combines the free-draining characteristics of clean stone with the density and toughness associated with steel slag. It performs well in structural mixes, drainage installations, utility work, and finished stone surfaces that require long-term durability and resistance to breakdown.
Sold as bulk material and delivered loose by dump truck. Typically dumped in a driveway, parking area, or another safe, accessible drop zone.
